| G'day all, My mid/low end torque is a bit abysmal since an engine rebuild a while back so I decided to check VTC operation. My understanding is that the stock ECU keeps VTC off at idle for a smoothness but as soon as the throttle closes the VTC should activate and advance the inlets. Then after the "VTC release" map entry RPM it will turn it off again (5900 rpm by default). What I am seeing is that the VTC is off all the time monitoring with Datascan. To test this I warmed the car up to operating temperature, and just watched it as I blipped the throttle up and down between 1000 -> 3500 rpm When I use an active test to turn the VTC on, the idle becomes noticably rougher which indicates it would definitely be working if it was activating. Can someone confirm my understanding of the VTC is correct above, and if so, what could be causing the VTC to not engage off-idle. Thanks
